.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 255 PM CDT Fri Jul 5 2024

A front associated with a mid level shortwave has progressed
through the region this afternoon with northwesterly flow
advecting much drier air into the region. Deep layer troughing
will remain across the eastern two-thirds of the CONUS this
weekend, deepening slightly as a ridge of high pressure aloft
propagates east. High pressure at the surface continues to move
in from the northwest tonight and parks itself across the Ohio
Valley through the weekend. Dry weather and cooler temperatures
are expected this weekend with highs in the mid to upper 80`s
and lows in the 60`s.

Attention then turns to Beryl for next week. The eastward
progression of the ridge aloft will allow Beryl to begin to
advance poleward in an h50 weakness across eastern Texas and
into the Mississippi Valley. Additionally, a boundary looks to
set up near the region next week. At the very least it seems as
though moisture associated with this system should advect
poleward next week offering daily chances of showers and storms
Monday through Thursday. Temperatures will remain in the 80`s
with dewpoints increasing into the lower 70`s.
