...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WESTERN SUFFOLK AND SOUTHEASTERN
NASSAU COUNTIES THROUGH 745 AM EDT...

At 704 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Jones Beach, moving northeast at 40 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Islip, Brentwood, Levittown, Freeport, Huntington Station, Deer Park,
Lindenhurst, Plainview, Massapequa, Huntington, Babylon, Farmingdale,
Jones Beach, Oceanside, and Dix Hills.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
