...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 630 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of North Mississippi, including the following
  county, DeSoto and West Tennessee, including the following county,
  Shelby.

* WHEN...Until 630 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 331 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Southaven, Collierville, Germantown, Olive Branch, Horn Lake,
    Memphis, Southeast Memphis, Midtown Memphis, Whitehaven,
    Southwest Memphis, Downtown Memphis, Lynchburg, Piperton,
    Capleville, Parkway Village, White Station, Plum Point,
    Fairhaven, Handy Corner and Miller.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
