...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL ORLEANS
AND NORTHWESTERN JEFFERSON PARISHES THROUGH 1245 PM CDT
...

At 1212 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Metairie, moving northwest at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
New Orleans, Metairie, Jefferson, Harahan, Elmwood, River Ridge,
Bridge City, and Lakefront Airport.

This includes the following Interstates...
 Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 223 and 233, and
between mile markers 238 and 240.
 Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
