Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... * Until 245 PM CDT. * At 143 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located near Terrebonne Bay, moving southeast at 25 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts 34 knots or greater. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
