...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN RAPIDES...NORTHWESTERN
EVANGELINE...NORTHWESTERN AVOYELLES...SOUTHEASTERN VERNON AND
NORTHEASTERN ALLEN PARISHES THROUGH 915 PM CDT...

At 846 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Fort Johnson to Glenmora to near
Brouillette. Movement was southeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Leesville, Marksville, Glenmora, Cheneyville, Slagle, Effie,
Hineston, Fort Johnson, Pitkin, New Llano, Lecompte, Lake Ophelia
National Wildlife Refuge, Elmer, Poland, Ruby, Lacamp, Echo,
Fullerton, Brouillette, and Leander.

This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 56 and 78.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
