.DISCUSSION...
Issued at 1026 AM EDT Mon Jul 15 2024
This morning is looking very much like yesterday morning as
temperatures are already in the mid to upper 80s along the island
chain, and dew points are near 80F. Some quick math gives us heat
indices of near 100F and greater, and this will only increase
during the afternoon when we`ll see heat index values near the
110F mark. Therefore, the Heat Advisory will remain in effect
through 7 PM. Easterly breezes of near 10 mph may take the edge
off of how hot it feels outside, but not by much. KBYX radar is
detecting some showers and thunderstorms across our waters, but
the spotty nature of the coverage will continue to make it
difficult to pinpoint if and when any of this activity moves over
land. With this being said, expect a hot and muggy day ahead and
don`t be surprised if you run into some active weather at some
point today. No changes or updates are needed to the forecast
package at this time.

.MARINE...
Issued at 1026 AM EDT Mon Jul 15 2024
There are no watches, warnings, or advisories in effect for the
Florida Keys coastal waters. From synopsis, Atlantic ridging will
remain across the Florida Peninsula through the duration of the
forecast. This will result in gentle to moderate easterly breezes
across Keys waters. Winds will tend to surge in the evening and
night hours and lull during the day.

.AVIATION...
(15Z TAFS)
Issued at 1026 AM EDT Mon Jul 15 2024
VFR conditions are expected to prevail at both EYW and MTH today.
While rain chances are above normal today, a somewhat unorganized
and wax and wane storm mode has resulted in pulse showers near both
terminals resulting in a VCSH inclusion. Amendments will be required
for more specific impacts if more organized showers or thunderstorms
develop and pass through. Near surface winds will be out of the east
at 6 to 10 knots.

.CLIMATE...
On this day in 1733, a Hurricane between Key Biscayne and Key Vaca
sunk several Spanish ships, causing 56 deaths.
