Northerly winds will increase during this evening over central and eastern Illinois, with gusts of 30 to 35 mph common by late evening from I-55 east. Winds will turn northwest during overnight with gusts of 35 to 40 mph at times in eastern IL overnight through mid Wednesday morning, with the strongest winds along and east of I-57. High profile vehicles like semi trucks should reduce their speed especially if they have a cross wind in open areas on I-57, I-70, I-72 and I-74. Tie down loose objects or bring them inside to prevent them from being blown around tonight and Wednesday morning. $$ 07
