...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN FLORENCE COUNTY
THROUGH 845 PM EDT...

At 816 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sardis, or 10 miles southwest of Florence, moving northeast at 20
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and torrential
         rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Florence, Timmonsville, Sardis, Effingham, Cartersville, Florence
Darlington Technical College Main Campus, Evergreen, Carolinas
Hospital System, Mcleod Regional Medical Center, Carolinas Hospital
System - Cedar Tower, and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 20 between mile markers 139 and 141.
 Interstate 95 in South Carolina between mile markers 147 and 165.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature`s leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
