At 816 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Sardis, or 10 miles southwest of Florence, moving northeast at 20 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, pea size hail, and torrential rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Florence, Timmonsville, Sardis, Effingham, Cartersville, Florence Darlington Technical College Main Campus, Evergreen, Carolinas Hospital System, Mcleod Regional Medical Center, Carolinas Hospital System - Cedar Tower, and Health South Rehabilitation Hospital. This includes the following highways... Interstate 20 between mile markers 139 and 141. Interstate 95 in South Carolina between mile markers 147 and 165. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
