...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 AM CDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
  counties, Brazoria, Fort Bend and Galveston.

* WHEN...Until 615 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 313 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Southwestern Pearland, southwestern League City, Galveston
    Island West End, Galveston Causeway, Texas City, Alvin,
    Angleton, La Marque, Santa Fe, Hitchcock, southern Manvel,
    Danbury, Arcola, Bayou Vista, Iowa Colony, Holiday Lakes,
    Jamaica Beach, Tiki Island, Hillcrest and northeastern
    Bailey`s Prairie.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
