At 722 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated the leading edge of an area of heavy rain along a line extending from 14 miles west of Spartanburg to 3 miles south of Greenville Downtown, and moving southeast at 10 mph. Locations to be impacted include... Greenville Downtown, Greenville Eastside, West Greenville, Greer, Mauldin, Simpsonville, Five Forks, Welcome, Duncan, and Lyman. Very heavy rainfall rates up to 2 inches per hour will be possible in these areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Torrential rainfall may flood areas with poor drainage, such as ditches and underpasses. Avoid these areas and do not cross flooded roads. Water levels of small streams may also rise rapidly.
