.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday through Monday)
Issued at 146 PM CDT Mon Jul 15 2024

Upper ridging from the west will be the main influence for
Wednesday`s weather. Hot afternoon temperatures in the upper 90s to
around 100 degrees are expected along with mainly dry conditions.
Some low end chances for precipitation are seen in the far eastern
coastal plains, although the better chances look closer to the
coast. Hot temperatures remain Thursday with South Central Texas
between the upper ridge to the west and a trough to the east. Heat
indices along and east of I-35 will be near or just above Heat
Advisory criteria each day, although heat index values above 108
degrees should be short lived and spotty.

A more perturbed and wet pattern emerges on Thursday with the
aforementioned troughing bringing a cold front into Texas.
Precipitation chances with this feature are seen as early as
Thursday afternoon with chances lingering for the rest of the
extended period. The front nears South Central Texas Friday,
retreating north Saturday and Sunday. Expect the best chances for
precipitation will remain in the northern or eastern portions of the
CWA during this period, although some chances are seen in the west.
Temperatures will be near normal Friday and Saturday, with a slight
cooling expected Sunday and Monday.
