  West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville affecting Emmet County.

  West Fork Des Moines River at Emmetsburg affecting Pocahontas and
  Palo Alto Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For the latest river and stream observations and forecasts refer to
weather.gov/desmoines/water.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

River forecasts include observed precipitation plus forecast
precipitation over the next 24 hours.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Humboldt, or from Joe
  Reasoner Dam to the East Fork Des Moines River.

* WHEN...Until Tuesday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, The Murray bridge is closed west of
  Rutland. Sandbagging occurs at the water treatment plant.
  Groundwater threatens the pump room at the water plant.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Tuesday morning and continue falling to 9.2 feet
    Thursday, July 18.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Estherville, or from the
  Iowa-Minnesota border to near Wallingford.

* WHEN...Until Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Mike Mickelson Park south of Iowa 9 is
  inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 10.5 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    early Saturday afternoon and continue falling to 8.5 feet
    Thursday, July 18.
  - Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...The West Fork Des Moines River at Emmetsburg, or from near
  Graettinger to Cylinder Creek near West Bend.

* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Water threatens Iowa 4 in areas near the
  river overpass as well as the road to the rendering plant. The
  road to the sanitary landfill area is closed.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 6:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 11.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
    tomorrow morning and continue falling to 8.0 feet Thursday,
    July 18.
  - Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
