Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY
148 PM MDT Fri Jul 5 2024

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH EARLY
SATURDAY EVENING FOR PORTIONS OF CARBON AND ALBANY COUNTY...

.DISCUSSION...

Near critical to critical fire weather conditions are favored for
portions of Albany and Carbon County on Saturday. Minimum humidity
will bottom out to 10-15 percent by Saturday afternoon for areas
currently under a Fire Weather Watch. Red Flag conditions are
possible for those areas due to breezy and gusty winds at times up
to 20-30mph by late afternoon. Isolated rain showers may create a
gusty and erratic wind stronger than 30mph for areas west of the
Laramie Range Saturday afternoon. Low confidence of dry thunder
being possible for areas in southeast Wyoming Saturday afternoon,
but we will see a strong cold front arrive late Saturday night
into Sunday morning, reducing the fire weather concerns overall.
