...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTHEASTERN DE BACA AND NORTH CENTRAL CHAVES COUNTIES...

At 839 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area had weakened and only light to moderate
rain persisted. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of Southeastern De Baca and North Central
  Chaves Counties.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.
