At 1042 PM, National Weather Service radar detected a large area of
showers and thunderstorms, some with heavy rain generally in far
eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. Thunderstorms with locally
heavy rain were located in Adair county in Oklahoma and Carroll and
Crawford counties in Arkansas. The precipitation was in the Fort
Smith and Bentonville, Rogers and Fayetteville areas. Movement was
to the southeast at around 20 mph. The average amount where it
rained last hour was around one quarter of an inch with maximum
amounts of an inch to an inch and a half. Coverage and intensity
remained about the same as last hour. The Tulsa area forecast for
overnight, mostly cloudy, showers and thunderstorms likely with
temperatures 73 to 79 degrees and north winds up to 5 mph.
