.DISCUSSION...Cooler, persistent northerly flow will remain in place over the
fire are through the next 24-48 hours, however, temperatures will
remain above seasonal normals by around 3-5 degrees. Very dry
conditions will persist through both the daytime and nighttime
hours, with humidity dropping into the single digits for the lower
elevations, and only recovering into the low- to mid-20 percent
range, with much of the night being spent in the teens for
humidity values. Winds will prevail out of a northerly direction
through the remainder of the week, with highest speeds anticipated
on higher exposure slopes and ridges. For the more protected
slopes (e.g. south facing), light terrain driven flows are
expected. Strong high pressure will remain in place through at
least the end of next week, bringing virtually no chance of
precipitation through at least Tuesday.
