.DISCUSSION...
Very hot, humid, and mostly dry conditions will continue for one more day, before the
weather pattern begins to gradually change as we move into Friday through at
least early next week. Afternoon temperatures will again climb into the upper 90s
to in excess of 100 degrees Thursday, with min RH`s ranging from 40-50% areawide,
with south-southwest 20 ft winds of 5-10 mph. The upper ridge that has been prevalent
over the region for the last few weeks will finally begin to break down Friday, as an
upper level disturbance begins to settle southeast into the region, helping to reinforce
a weak surface front into the area. This front will provide the focus for scattered
showers and thunderstorms areawide Friday, before settling south into East Texas and
North Louisiana by Saturday. This front should begin to lift back north and eventually
wash out Sunday, but still could provide enough focus for more scattered showers and
thunderstorms over the region. The unsettled weather pattern will continue over the
region for much of next week, as another upper level disturbance settles over the area.
These rains will provide beneficial rains in wake of the very hot and dry conditions over
the last month, as well as cooler temperatures which will settle down closer to normal.
