Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
804 PM MDT Thu Jul 4 2024

.Discussion...

Near critical fire weather conditions will be possible this
weekend over the higher elevations, especially in Chaffee
county and the greater San Luis Valley region.

For the remainder of the region, northwest mid level flow
will prevail over the district. Breezy conditons are likely
over all of the higher elevations, especially during the
afternoon time periods. Much drier air will be possible
along the Continental Divide region, and this is where
the near critical fire weather conditions will be possible
this weekend.

Over the plains, occasional frontal passages will keep
temperatures at or below seasonable values for this time
of the year, with mainly isolated thunderstorms being
possible.

Smoke dispersion will be good or better over the
district both tomorrow afternoon and Saturday afternoon.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
