Trade winds continues to dominate in the region as a high pressure system builds from the south. Expect winds to peak today through Wednesday (near advisory thresholds - 25 mph) when the high pressure is at its strongest. By Independence Day, model data suggests a downward trend for winds around the afternoon as the high pressure system moves further east. This pattern will allow a trough to develop over the Islands by Friday. Hence, expect an uptick in showers through Saturday.
