.DISCUSSION...

Idaho (Zones 102 and 103): Expect hot and dry conditions to continue
this week. There is a chance for showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday
with gusty winds and dry lightning the biggest threats. Very poor
relative humidity recoveries will remain through the rest of the week,
with a re-amplification of the ridge of high pressure toward the end of
the week which would bring hotter temperatures.

Northwest MT (Zones 104 and 105): High pressure will keep hot and dry
conditions in the forecast through the coming week. Temperatures will
remain above normal while daytime relative humidity stays low. Overnight
recovery will be poor on the midslopes. Westerly winds will increase
this afternoon and have about around a 70% chance of exceeding 20 mph
on the ridgetops in the Kootenai NF, and a 80% probability for the CSKT
region. Possible gusty showers and dry lightning Wednesday evening and
night. A re- amplification of the ridge of high pressure toward the end
of the week will allow temperatures to reach 100F degrees.

West Central MT (Zones 106, 107 and 108): High pressure will keep hot and dry
conditions in the forecast through the coming week. Temperatures will
remain above normal while daytime relative humidity stays low. Overnight
recovery will be poor on the midslopes. Westerly winds will increase
Monday afternoon and have about around a 65% chance of exceeding 20
mph. Isolated dry lightning Wednesday possible in the mountains towards
the Idaho/Montana border. A re- amplification of the ridge of high
pressure toward the end of the week will allow temperatures to reach
100F degrees.

Southwest MT (Zones 109, 110 and 111): Monsoon moisture will bring
scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms with wind gusts up to
around 35 mph, occasional lightning, and light rainfall to the
Beaverhead/Deerlodge NF through Wednesday. High pressure will keep hot
and dry conditions in the forecast through the coming week. Temperatures
will remain above normal while daytime relative humidity stays low.
Overnight recovery will be poor on the midslopes.
