.NOW...
Through 10:30 pm...a decaying area of showers and thunderstorms
will persist over the central and southeast South Plains, while
the leading edge advances into the western Rolling Plains. The
most intense activity will affect areas in and around White River
Lake, Spur and Lake Alan Henry while developing southeast around
20 mph. Expect heavy downpours, cloud to ground lightning and
wind gusts to 50 mph with the strongest activity. If you hear
thunder you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Seek
shelter in a sturdy building or hard-covered vehicle and wait for
the storm to pass. Additional rain totals of a few hundredths to a
couple of tenths of an inch will be common, with localized totals
in excess of a half inch.
