National Weather Service Milwaukee/Sullivan WI
900 PM CDT Wed Jul 3 2024

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...

Weak high pressure of 29.9 inches currently over northern Missouri
will continue eastward overnight, decreasing the breezy southerly
winds currently across Lake Michigan and turning them westerly by
Thursday morning. Westerly winds will remain across Lake Michigan
Thursday morning before turning easterly and accelerating again
by the afternoon as low pressure deepens to 29.5 inches over
Wisconsin. This low pressure will move eastward across Wisconsin
Thursday night into Friday, bringing showers and thunderstorms to
Lake Michigan throughout the day on Friday. As the low moves
across the center of the lake on Friday, winds over the southern
half of Lake Michigan will be from a south to southwesterly
direction whereas the winds across the northern half of the lake
will be from a north to northeasterly direction. Wind gusts
associated with the low will generally be around 20 KT. The low
will lift northeastward into Canada on Saturday, bringing
northwesterly winds to the lake, but gusts are expected to remain
around 20 KT throughout the day. Another area of high pressure of
30.0 inches then moves east across the Ohio River Valley Saturday
into Sunday.
