NORTHWESTERN KEITH...SOUTHEASTERN GARDEN AND NORTHEASTERN DEUEL COUNTIES THROUGH 445 PM MDT... At 356 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Lewellen, or 17 miles east of Oshkosh, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of southwestern Arthur, northwestern Keith, southeastern Garden and northeastern Deuel Counties, including the following locations... Ash Hollow State Historical Park, Eagle Gulch Campground, Ruthon, Belmar, Clear Creek State Wildlife Management Area, McKeag, Otter Creek Campground, Windlass Hill, and Lake View Campground. This includes the following highways... Highway 61 between mile markers 89 and 119. Highway 92 between mile markers 115 and 138. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If on or near Lake McConaughy, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until this storm passes.
