...Preliminary Storm Survey from northwest St. Joseph County in
Michigan...

The National Weather Service office in Northern Indiana has
confirmed a tornado from near Lewis Lake southeast to the north side
of Three Rivers in northwest St. Joseph County Michigan. This
survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorm that moved through
the area between 8 am and 9 am EDT on Tuesday August 6th.

Initial survey results suggest at least EF 1 damage, with a final
assessment regarding track and intensity expected by later tomorrow
in a Public Information Statement and web story available at
weather.gov/iwx.

The NWS would like to thank St. Joseph County emergency
management with assistance during this survey. Thanks also to
local fire departments, spotters, and the public for providing
information regarding storm damage.
