An active weather pattern remains positioned across central U S
with scattered showers and storms extending from Minnesota to New
Mexico. The Omaha, Nebraska area has received up to 6 inches of
rainfall this morning with several reports of flooding ongoing.
Closer to home, temperatures remain quite mild with values in the
80s for most.

A hot and humid afternoon is expected across the region today with
heat indices up to 111 degrees expected. In addition, scattered
thunderstorms are expected with the strongest being capable of 70
mph winds, half dollar size hail, and heavy rainfall.

Scattered showers and storms are likely to continue into tonight
with the potential for heavy rainfall remaining. Overnight lows
will reach the 50s and 60s across northwest Kansas with values
near 80 across southeast Kansas.
