...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL MONTEZUMA AND
CENTRAL LA PLATA COUNTIES THROUGH 245 AM MDT...

At 215 AM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Mancos to 6 miles west of
Durango. Movement was east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Durango, La Plata, Mayday, Hesperus, and Trimble.

This includes the following highways...
 U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 21 and 31.
 U.S. Highway 160 in Colorado between mile markers 60 and 84.
 Colorado 140 between mile markers 19 and 23.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Heavy rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
