.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
A moist airmass will remain in place over the forecast through the
weekend. An approaching frontal boundary will bring scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms to the area, primarily during the
afternoon and evening hours. Rainfall totals will largely range from
0.25-0.75 across north Georgia and 0.75-1.25 across central Georgia
through Sunday. Periods of locally heavy rainfall will be possible
in strong storms. Minimum RH values will range from 40-65 percent
through the weekend. Dangerous afternoon heat index values as high
as 105-110 degrees are forecast for Saturday for areas south of the
I-85 corridor. Sunday, triple digit heat index values will return
ranging from 100-105. Winds Saturday will be primarily W/NW at 5 mph
or less. Sunday, winds turn E/SE at 5 mph or less.
