...New AVIATION...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Wednesday)
Issued at 201 AM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024

Things are fairly quiet overnight across South-Central Texas
overnight with some high clouds in place across eastern areas. Could
see some patchy low clouds by morning but widespread low clouds are
not expected. Winds are southerly and temperatures remain in the
lower 80s. Low temperatures by day break will be in the middle to
upper 70s across the area. Expect another day with highs topping out
in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees across the region. Expecting
decent mixing this afternoon for most areas outside the eastern
counties and expecting heat index values to be lower than Heat
Advisory criteria. Lows tonight will be back in the upper 70s to
near 80 degrees. Temperatures Wednesday may be a degree or two
cooler and again not anticipating any need for heat headlines. The
short-term period will remain dry with upper level high pressure
continuing over the region.

.LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through Monday)
Issued at 201 AM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024

The subtropical ridge will be centered over the southeastern US
Wednesday night and expand westward Thursday and Thursday night.
Subsident flow around the high will suppress any convection through
mid-day Friday. Temperatures from Wednesday night through Friday
will be above normal with lows from the middle 70s to near 80 and
highs from the upper 90s to near 103. Generally speaking dewpoints
will mix out down into the 60s during the afternoons and heat indices
will remain below advisory levels. A weak cold front will drop into
Central Texas and may push some showers and thunderstorms into our
northern counties Friday afternoon and evening. This boundary will
linger in the region Saturday and there will be another low chance
for convection across the north and east. The front will move away
and dissipated Saturday night into Sunday. Slight rain chances will
then shift to the Coastal Plains in strong onshore flow.

Issued at 600 AM CDT Tue Jul 2 2024

Have not seen much in the way of low clouds develop overnight and

breezy speeds during the afternoon and evening periods. Otherwise, no
major problems are expected during this TAF cycle.
