...The National Weather Service in Quad Cities IA IL has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Iowa...

  North Skunk River near Sigourney affecting Keokuk County.

.Heavy rain in the area of the gage and upstream are leading to
rapid rises and likely Moderate flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

* WHERE...North Skunk River near Sigourney.

* WHEN...From Wednesday morning to late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Water affects most agricultural land near
  Sigourney.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.2 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tomorrow morning to a crest of 20.0 feet early Thursday
    morning. It will then fall below flood stage early Friday
    morning.
  - Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
