Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southeast Wyoming/Western Nebraska
National Weather Service CHEYENNE WY

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 501 IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM MDT THIS
EVENING
.DISCUSSION...

We will continue to be under the influence of northwest flow aloft
which will tend to keep our pattern active with scattered
afternoon showers and thunderstorms through the next several days.
There will be a couple days on both Friday and Saturday where high
pressure will remain in control mainly west of the Laramie Range.
This will keep things dry in that region with the potential for
critical fire weather conditions on Saturday as wind speeds pickup
from the west-northwest. Otherwise, drier conditions are possible
next week as the upper level ridge tries to build over the area.
