...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT EASTERN JONES...SOUTHEASTERN
SULLY...SOUTHEASTERN STANLEY...HUGHES AND NORTHWESTERN LYMAN COUNTIES
THROUGH 715 PM CDT...

At 630 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Grey Goose to 8 miles south of Fort Pierre
to 6 miles southeast of Westover. Movement was east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Pierre, Fort Pierre, Presho, Murdo, Blunt, Vivian, Draper, Westover,
Cedar Creek Rec Area, Fate Dam, Earling Hill, West Shore Rec Area,
Degrey Rec Area, Grey Goose, Rousseau, Intersection of Highway 83 and
White River, Oahe Mission Rec Area, Wendte, Canning, and Chantier
Creek Recreation Area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Aberdeen.

If on or near Lake Oahe, get out of the water and move indoors or
inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles
from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close
enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not
be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for
central South Dakota.
