The main hazard with these storms is strong outflow winds. The combination of strong winds and dry lightning will pose high fire danger in the eastern Sierra and Owens Valley, where a Red Flag Warning is in place. Dry lightning cannot be ruled out in the southern Great Basin as well. Light rainfall is possible with storms across the remainer of the forecast area, particularly over high terrain. Minimum humidity today and tomorrow is in the 10 to 20 percent range for most areas with overnight recovery between 30 and 50 percent. Thunderstorm chances decrease next week as drier air moves in from the west. Note: Thunderstorms imply gusty and erratic winds.
