763 WGUS83 KTOP 131336 FLSTOP Flood Advisory National Weather Service Topeka KS 836 AM CDT Sat Jul 13 2024 KSC003-059-131630- /O.NEW.KTOP.FA.Y.0039.240713T1336Z-240713T1630Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Anderson KS-Franklin KS- 836 AM CDT Sat Jul 13 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1130 AM CDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east central Kansas, including the following counties, Anderson and Franklin. * WHEN...Until 1130 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 834 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over the same areas that received heavy rain Friday morning. This could cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain could result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Ottawa, Garnett, Pomona, Richmond, Williamsburg, Greeley, Princeton, Lane, Rantoul, Harris and Garnett Airport. - This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 169 and 186. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads.
