Breezy westerly winds aloft will translate down to the surface this afternoon, warming temperatures to around 10 degrees above normal and drying afternoon humidity to mostly between 10 and 20 percent. The most critical fire weather conditions are still forecast for zones 117 and 118, where the dry and windy conditions will combine with significantly dry fuels. A disturbance in the flow aloft will also bring a chance for strong thunderstorms with large hail and damaging erratic wind gusts to portions of zone 113. Dry and breezy conditions are forecast to continue through Sunday, though winds will not be quite as strong.
