...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...Strong high pressure lies overhead, resulting in
persistent hot and dry conditions with diurnally-driven winds.
However, this high pressure will shift eastward, allowing moisture
to overspread the state over the next few days. Overnight
recoveries will be poor again tonight (20-25%), however they will
finally start to improve beginning Friday night into the 30s.
Similarly, minimum RH will also increase (though a bit slower),
reaching the low-20s by Sunday.

Showers and thunderstorms will trend upwards in coverage through the
weekend, starting with an isolated chance for dry lightning and high-
based showers on Friday afternoon. This threat of dry lightning
will be higher on Saturday, thus a Fire Weather Watch has been
issued for Saturday afternoon. Although winds will remain fairly
light and diurnally-driven (<20 mph) outside of any showers,
gusty and erratic microburst winds in excess of 40 mph will be
also a threat through the weekend during the afternoons/evenings.

RH will likely remain elevated through at least Monday before
high pressure begins to build over the area once again mid-week,
producing a gradual drying trend in terms of RH.
