.LONG TERM...
(Monday through Saturday)
Issued at 115 AM CDT Sun Aug 18 2024

...Hot and dry conditions will continue through the upcoming work
week...

A strong upper-level ridge will remain steadfast across West
Central Texas through next weekend, keeping hot and dry conditions
in the forecast through Saturday next week. Temperatures on Monday
will start off in the upper 90s to 108, with temperatures of 105
to 108 mainly seen north of a Barnhart to Brady line. Widespread
triple-digit high temperatures are expected Tuesday through
Thursday, with afternoon high temperatures ranging from 101 to
near 110 in some areas of the Big Country. By Friday, high
temperatures return to the upper 90s to near 105 range, and upper
90s to 102 by the weekend as the upper-ridge weakens slightly
across the area. It is safe to say that we will likely be issuing
heat- related hazard products much of this coming week, along with
the potential for elevated fire weather conditions across the
northern portions of our area.
