Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service San Angelo TX
155 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

...New LONG TERM...

.SHORT TERM...
(Today and tonight)
Issued at 239 AM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

Today`s weather will be similar to the past few days, with highs
ranging from the lower 90s to around 100 degrees. Our southern
counties could see increased cloud cover this afternoon as an
inverted trough starts to set up to our southwest and moisture
increases through the column. This cloud cover will help keep this
area a few degrees cooler compared to areas further north. With the
increase in moisture, precipitable water values are forecast to
approach 1.5 inches in our southeastern counties by this afternoon.
There is a slight chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms in
the I-10 corridor starting this afternoon. Any storms that do
develop will have the potential to produce lightning, gusty winds,
and locally heavy rainfall.

.LONG TERM...
(Saturday night through next Friday)
Issued at 147 PM CDT Fri Jul 12 2024

The upper ridge will remain centered over the Desert Southwest
through the extened period, with a weakness aloft persisting
over our area through the period. Isolated to widely scattered
diurnal convection will be possible over soutwhest portions of
the forecast area Sunday through Tuesday. May see a little better
coverage across the rest of the area towards the end of the week,
but there is quite a bit of uncertainty this far out, so will
keep POPs on the low side.

Tempratures from Sunday through mid week will range from the
upper 90s to around 100 degrees across the Big Country, to the
low to mid 90s across southern sections where more cloud cover
is expected. Temperatures will be a bit cooler towards the end
of the week, with highs in the low to upper 90s.
