(Today and tonight) Issued at 133 AM CDT Tue Jul 8 2025 A quiet early morning across the area. However, thunderstorms are moving southeast across the South Plains near Lubbock. The storms should dissipate in the next few hours before reaching our area. Looking for a more typical summer day across the area. However, the Hi-Res models are still indicate isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms developing across much of the area late this afternoon and early evening. The main hazards will be dangerous lightning and localized flooding. Highs will be mid 80s to mid 90s. For Tonight, looks mainly quiet with any convection dissipating by 03Z. && .LONG TERM... (Wednesday through Monday) Issued at 1242 AM CDT Tue Jul 8 2025 An tropical wave is forecast to move onto the Texas coast Tuesday resulting in an influx of moisture. Some of this moisture is forecast to move into our southeast counties on Wednesday. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible Wednesday afternoon across our southeast counties, with most of the activity dissipating by mid evening. Highs on Wednesday will be in the low to mid 90s. Upper level ridging across the Southwest U.S. will nudge into West Texas Thursday into Friday, resulting in drier and hotter temperatures. Highs both days will be in the low to upper 90s. As we head into the weekend, West Central Texas will be nudged in between the aforementioned upper level ridge to our west and another upper level ridge centered across the Southeast US. This will result in highs near to below normal this weekend into early next week. In addition, isolated to scattered showers will be possible. && .AVIATION...
