.SHORT TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/...
Issued at 253 AM CDT Sat Aug 17 2024

Storms yesterday evening surged south of the area, pushing
outflow all the way into northern Louisiana and pushing the
front to the southwest of the CWA. This has reduced storm
potential for this afternoon into tonight, which now looks dry.
The storms currently skirting the southwestern CWA will
dissipate and move out of the region this morning.

The rest of today will see mostly sunny skies with highs in the
low to mid 90s. Moisture should be greatest closer to the front
and where rain has been falling much of the night, which is over
the far SW. Heat index values up to 107 are expected there so a
Heat Advisory was issued.

Look for lows in the 60s tonight.

.LONG TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY/...
Issued at 253 AM CDT Sat Aug 17 2024

Sunday and Sunday night:

Could see some showers and storms Sunday and Sunday night,
mainly over the western CWA. For Sunday, this amounts to a
15-25% chance. Chances increase to 15-40% Sunday night. There
is a very limited chance for some strong to severe storms with
this activity, but confidence in any details is very limited.

Look for highs ranging from the mid 80s NE to the mid 90s far SW
on Sunday, with potential for heat index values up to around 105
over the far SW.

Monday through Friday

Forecast is dry at this time. Look for highs in the 80s and lows
in the 50s and 60s.
