Hydrometeorological Discussion
National Weather Service / California Nevada RFC / Sacramento CA
830 AM PDT Mon Jul 8 2024

...WARM TO HOT TEMPERATURES THROUGH FRIDAY THEN COOLER THIS
WEEKEND...
...DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH FRIDAY THEN POSSIBLE ISOLATED SHOWERS OVER
SE CA AND PORTIONS OF NV THIS WEEKEND...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (MON AM - SUN AM)...

Ridge of high pressure centered over the region today then gradually
shifting east over NV Tuesday into Thursday and into the four
corners region on the weekend. A weak low approaching the Nrn CA
coast today and inland Tuesday will bring a little cooling to the
coast and delta influenced regions. Temperatures generally 5 to 20
degrees above normal through Friday except a little cooler along the
coast today and for most of Nrn and Central CA on Tuesday with max
temperatures near normal to around 12 degrees above normal. Near
record to record high max and high min temperatures are possible. A
weak trough/low approaches the west coast on Saturday as the center
of the high shifts into the four corners region. This will bring
cooler temperatures for the weekend with temperatures generally near
normal along the coast and up to around 12 degrees above normal
elsewhere on Saturday and near to 10 degrees below normal along the
coast and up to 10 degrees above normal elsewhere on Sunday. Some
monsoon moisture may creep up into the south over the weekend for
possible isolated showers/tstorms over SE CA and Srn Sierra and over
parts of NV.
