...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT EAST CENTRAL OTERO...SOUTHERN
KIOWA AND NORTHWESTERN BENT COUNTIES THROUGH 130 PM MDT...

At 1247 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Blue Lake, or 21 miles northeast of North La Junta, moving south at
10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and locally heavy rainfall.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. High water and enhanced flows will be
         possible in low lying areas, ditches, creeks and streams.
         Ponding of water will be possible on roadways during the
         heavier rainfall.

Locations impacted include...
Las Animas, Blue Lake, John Martin Reservoir, and Fort Lyon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
