.Discussion...

Continued above normal temperatures with chances for showers and
gusty thunderstorms are expected for today. Today`s daytime highs
will be a few degrees cooler than the past several days, and
thunderstorm coverage will increase across the area. This
increase in coverage is due to an overall increase in moisture,
especially over the high country. Relative humidity values look to
remain in the 20 to +30% range over the high country today, with
values in the mid teens across the plains. This will mean more
chances for meaningful rainfall out of thunderstorms in the mountains
today. Though today`s risk for dry lightning on the plains will be
less than yesterday, it will still be a possibility, especially
earlier in the day. Gusty outflow winds in excess of 60 mph will
also be possible on our plains today.

A cold front arrives later this evening, which will bring about
the start of a much anticipated pattern change that looks to
persist through the rest of the period. Severe thunderstorms and
flash flooding will be possible on Tuesday, with excessive
rainfall chances continuing through the end of the week.

Afternoon smoke dispersion rates will be very good or better across
the plains and good or better for the high country today. Rates
worsen tomorrow, though many zones look to still be at least good
or better, especially across the lower elevations.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
