...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHERN FAIRFIELD...WEST CENTRAL
SUFFOLK AND NORTHEASTERN NASSAU COUNTIES THROUGH 930 PM EDT...

At 842 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Stamford to near Huntington to Syosset.
Movement was east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Bridgeport, Stamford, Norwalk, Commack, Huntington Station, Syosset,
Huntington, Stony Brook, Port Jefferson, Northport, Oyster Bay,
Fairfield, Greenwich, Smithtown, and Westport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
southeastern New York.
