Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. AMZ001-112115- Synopsis for Caribbean Sea, and Tropical N Atlantic from 07N to 19N W of 55W 508 AM EDT Sun Aug 11 2024 .SYNOPSIS...Moderate to locally fresh trades will prevail across the basin through Mon. A robust tropical wave currently in the central Atlantic is expected to gradually develop over the next few days, and a tropical depression is likely to form by the early part of this week while the system approaches and then moves near or over the Lesser Antilles. Then, this system is forecast to move generally west-northwestward and could approach portions of the Greater Antilles by the middle to latter part of this week.
