Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be more than twice the significant wave height. Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms. ANZ899-150215- 1115 AM EDT Wed Aug 14 2024 .SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A cold front will drift S over the far S waters today as a weak low moves E along the front. The low will quickly move E of the area while pulling the cold front S of the area tonight into Fri. High pressure will build E over the N portion tonight into Fri, then shift E of the region Fri night into Sat night while maintaining a ridge across the waters. Hurricane Ernesto will track N to NE to the SE of the area Thu night into Fri, then turn N Fri night into Sat night while passing E of the southern and central waters. Ernesto will then accelerate NE Sun and Sun night while passing E of the northern waters, and continuing to move to the NE away from the area Mon.
