West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until
July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when
describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text
and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A cold front will approach the
coast today, then move slowly into the N and central portions
tonight. The front will become stationary across the northern and
central waters extending NE from Cape Charles through Sun while
slowly weakening. A weak low pressure may form along the front
Sun morning, moving quickly E along the front away from the
waters Sun night. The front will lift back to the N as a warm
front Mon and Mon night. Otherwise, high pressure will persist E
of the area tonight into Mon night, maintaining a ridge over the
waters S of Cape Hatteras through the period. Chesapeake NAVTEX
remains inoperable. Technicians are aware. We apologize for the

39.3N 71.9W...SW to 37.7N 72.9W
