West central North Atlantic continental shelf and slope waters
beyond 20 nm to 250 nm offshore, including south of Georges Bank
from 1000 fm to 250 nm offshore.

Conditions given represent the highest within that period.

Seas given as significant wave height, which is the average
height of the highest 1/3 of the waves. Individual waves may be
more than twice the significant wave height.

Locally higher winds and seas can be expected in and near tstms.

The National Weather Service is accepting public comments until
July 29 2024 on a proposal to replace feet with meters when
describing seas in a variety of National Marine Center text
and graphical products for the Offshore and High Seas Areas

.SYNOPSIS FOR MID ATLC WATERS...A high pressure ridge will
persist from the outer portion of the waters eastward today
through Fri night, with the ridge strengthening Thu into Fri
night while retrograding westward. An upper level trough will
track W over the far southern waters today into Tue while
weakening. Otherwise, a stationary front near the coast or just
inland will persist today into Tue while weakening. A cold front
will slowly approach from the W Wed into Thu night, with the
front stalling and weakening near the coast or just inland Fri
and Fri night. Chesapeake NAVTEX is reported inoperable.
