.SYNOPSIS...Weakening high pressure will persist over the N
portion and also the W portions of the central and southern
waters today, then slowly shift NE of the region tonight into
Sun. Hurricane Ernesto will track toward the N to NE and remain
to the E of the area today into Sun, then continue to move NE Sun
night while passing E of the N waters before accelerating off to
the NE Mon into Mon night. Long period SE to E swell from Ernesto
will move N and NW into the waters today into Mon night. For more
information on Ernesto please see the latest National Hurricane
Center advisory. Otherwise, a cold front will approach the coast
from the W and NW by Mon, gradually move offshore later Mon into
Mon night, and then slowly cross the region Tue into Tue night.
The front will stall near or just S of the far southern portion
Wed and Wed night as high pressure build E over the mid-Atlantic
states. The NAVTEX station in Chesapeake has been reported to be
inoperable.
