.SYNOPSIS...A weakening high pressure ridge stretching from SW to
NE across the waters will dissipate tonight. Tropical Storm
Ernesto will remain well E of the area as it continues tracking
NNE and once again becomes a hurricane by later today and
tonight. Long period SE to E swell from Ernesto will persist
across the region today through Mon night. See the latest
National Hurricane Center advisory on Ernesto for more
information. A cold front will gradually move offshore late Mon
and Mon night, then slowly move ESE across the waters Tue into
Tue night. The front will move E of the northern and central
waters by Wed while stalling across the far southern waters and
remaining nearly stationary Wed night through Thu night. A weak
low pressure trough will pass E across the northern waters late
Wed or Wed night, followed by high pressure building E across the
northern and central waters Thu and Thu night. The NAVTEX station
in Chesapeake remains inoperable, and should be assumed to be
inoperable until a return to service has been reported.
